Los que sois seguidores de mi blog, ya sabéis que he hablado de este artista en algún post anterior.
Si fotografía es luz, en mi opinión sus obras también lo son en cierto modo. Paisajes que cobran vida propia, escenas plasmadas sobre chapa de zinc y aluminio que cambian ante nuestros ojos según el camino que la luz recorre sobre ellas. Un mismo paisaje, transformados en cientos.

Igancio Fortún inauguró hace dos semanas su exposición “Lindes” en la Galería Antonio de Suñer (Madrid). En alguna de estas fotografías se puede observar parte de la obra expuesta. En el vídeo que hay a continuación, podréis ver con claridad por qué un paisaje son cientos.

Although we are going to talk about paintings, Ignacio Fortun’ art work has something in common with photography, this is the light.
If photography is light, so are his works in a way. Landscapes come to life, scenes painted on zinc and aluminum that change in front of our eyes as the way light travels over them. The same landscape, transformed into hundreds.
Igancio Fortun two weeks ago opened his exhibition “Lindes” in Gallery Antonio de Suner Gallery (Madrid).
In some of these pictures you can see part of the exhibited work. In the video that follows, you can clearly see why a landscape are hundreds.

Firecracker es una plataforma on-line que ayuda y apoya a mujeres fotógrafas residentes en Europa. Esta plataforma exhibe cada mes un proyecto distinto, y ofrece a estas mujeres la posibilidad de optar a la beca que Firecracker ofrece para el desarrollo de un proyecto personal. Así mismo también es posible consultar trabajos de otras mujeres fotógrafas europeas, e información útil para el desarrollo de trabajos.

In summer 2012 the Firecracker Photographic Grant will be announced and awarded in autumn to a woman photographer born or residing in Europe, to assist with a photographic project.

Oscar ha venido esta Navidad al estudio, y le encantó. Fué tarea fácil. Lleva viviendo en España poco mas de tres meses. Entre todas las niñas chinas que son adoptadas por familias españolas, parece ser que aún existe hueco para los niños. Oscar no habla mucho español, pero a sus padres adoptivos les entiende a la perfección. Le encantan los chicles y los charcos!

Among all these portraits I’m doing at Studios16, there is a session I would like to share with you. This time my model was a bit younger …
Oscar came to the studio this Christmas, and loved it. It was easy. Oscar has lived in Spain just over three months. Among all those Chinese girls adopted by Spanish families, it seems that there is still a chance for children. Oscar does not speak muchSpanish, but he understands his adoptive parents perfectly. He loves chewing-gum and puddles!
This is a small sample of the session.

Desde que abrimos Studios16 al público hemos tenido visitas de todo tipo, amigos, familiares, vecinos, antiguos clientes, clientes futuros… Esto va por ellos!!! Pronto más!

A dog who does not like posing, a grandmother who wants to be a super hero, the guy who thought being Nacho Duato, and that one who felt to be a model (I have to say something rancid pose)for Viceroy, or the couple who was for H&M, the girl who did not want to pose even getting paid, or the spontaneous singer ….
Since opening to the public Studios16 we have had several visits, friends, relatives, neighbors, old clients, new clients… More coming soon!

We have already begun working at Studios16. After a small opening on Friday night we are ready to start!

Esta excusa es todo el tiempo, esfuerzo, ilusión, nervios, … y muchas cosas mas que estamos (plural, porque no lo hago sola) invirtiendo en cumplir un sueño, en tener nuestro estudio. Tener nuestro propio lugar en el que trabajar, hacer fotografías, atender a clientes, reunirnos con visitas y amigos… en definitiva, nuestro sitio. Estoy excusada, no?

Así que bueno, espero que el próximo post sea para invitaros a la inauguración!


Since I started writing this blog, like four years ago I’ve been telling myself I never put the typical post saying “After a time without writing …”, or ” I regret not writing sooner but … ” The truth is that today could, but no … because I have a good excuse! ;)

This excuse is all the time, effort, enthusiasm, nerves, … and much more that we (I said plural, because I’m not doing it on my own) put in fulfilling a dream, to have a study . Having our own place to work, our studio to shoot, meet customers, and take coffee with friends! ;)

I hope to invite you to the opening in the next post!

Este es el resultado. Aparezco sobre el minuto 36, aunque he de decir que la entrevista anterior fue también interesante. Y una cosita mas… chicken, kitchen… para mi es lo mismo! :D

Concha Montserrat phoned me yesterday noon asking me for a brief interview in her radio program “La ventana de Aragón”, so there I went! This is the result. My interview is around the 36 minute, although the previous interview was also interesting. One more thing… is in spanish!

“Parejas” es un proyecto personal, realizado en Londres a lo largo de doce meses. Está basado en una serie de retratos de parejas de inmigrantes instaladas en Londres. Tal como explica el texto que acompaña cada uno de ellos, los retratos son un reflejo de las diferentes circunstancias personales, de las diversas trayectorias vitales, que explican que sus protagonistas se encuentren, en un momento dado, compartiendo su vida al lado de otra persona en una ciudad extranjera.

I insist a little bit more … if anyone does not know it yet …
I am having an exhibition next month, the open day will be on Tuesday 4th at 7pm at Joaquín Roncal, Zaragoza (Spain).

“Couples” is a personal project, developed in London over twelve months. It is based on a serie of portraits of couples of immigrants living in London. As the accompanying text explains each of them, the portraits are a reflection of the different personal circumstances of the different life paths, explaining that its protagonists are, at any given time, sharing his life with another person in a foreign city.

Curator’s Network busca a 20 artistas españoles para darles la oportunidad de enseñar su trabajo a nivel mundial. Desde el próximo 17 de Noviembre, y hasta el 20 del mismo mes, se reunirán en Matadero Madrid expertos internacionales que valorarán los portfolios de los participantes. A parte de esto les ofrecerán la oportunidad de tener su perfil en la base de datos de Curator’s Network, lo cual facilitará que otros agentes internacionales puedan ver su trabajo una vez finalizado el evento.
