We went to Tavira, Lagos, Luz, Carrapateira, Sagres and small villages we found in our way. As usual, I took the camera with me, but the most of the days I left it the room…, so here you have 1 photo per day.

Check the photos out, you will find what I saw. Marrakech streets, the zoco, traffic outside the Medina; the high Atlas mountains with endless trails between Berber villages like Ouis Keddou and Ait Mannsour; Ouarzazate which capital takes the same name, and the city of Tinerhir one of the most beautiful oases of southern Morocco; a village in the Sahara Desert called Merzouga where we slept in a tent under the starry sky; and our last destination, Essaouira, which Medina is a UNESCO World Heritage Listed, the fishing harbour… and what I really liked to see the most, who lives in those roads, cities, villages, what they do, how they live… once again, it was like going back to the past comparing them with our way of life.

History includes a wealth of cities that have disappeared. More rare are those that become dormant, cities frozen in history which decay steadily. Havana is such a city. When I visited Cuba (Trinidad and Havana), I felt like being in a theatre, the cities have being still for forty years, they have an urban and social typology. Unlike the urban utopias carried out by socialist governments in certain central and eastern European countries, in Havana Castro did not try to make a clean sweep of its architectural heritage. On the contrary, this heritage has been preserved, or rather abandoned. Cubans are still living there as the time did not pass. They are part of the present, but outside of time and now also outside of History.

It rained almost every day, nevertheless we decided to make the most of the four days of fine weather which lay ahead. We walked and walked and walked… as I said in several post, I am not very keen in landscape photography, but seeing these stunning scenery, drove me to take more photos that I really wanted What for? I think… to make postcards? not really, just for myself.

So a friend and me decided to take the Euro Star and go to Paris for a day, so we took the first train in the morning, and came back with the last one.
