I went yesterday to see the The Press Photographer’s Year 09 exhibition at the National Theatre.
323 photographers based in over 20 countries throughout Europe, as well as China, Thailand, India, Australia and the USA submitted images. The photographs are currently on display at the National Theatre alongside a projected sideshow of an edit of images from the Beijing Olympic Games made by the Sports Jury.

The Press Photographer’s Year is the only competition that recognises and showcases the outstanding press photography taken for the UK news media. It celebrates its fourth year.
Designed by photographers for photographers, and judged by their peers. It celebrates the unsung art of seeing through the chaos to capture that one still moment which defines an entire news event.

It is a free exhibition that worth being seen.
