Street & Studio

paulstrand.jpgI have been today at the Tate Modern just to see the Street and Studio, An Urban history of Photography. It is an exhibition of international photography which brings out the contrast between the pictures taken in a studio and photos taken in the uncontrollable street.

I sow work by some of the worlds most famous and important photographers including some of my favorite’s ones, like Diane Arbus, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Irving Penn or Paul Strand.

Do not miss it!

You will enjoy it!

The Long Weekend

The Long Weekend brings you three days and nights of extraordinary live events and performances at Tate Modern.

I went yesterday to take some photos of Nissan Qashqai Challenge. Here you can see some of the pictures I took of the world’s most famous professional mountain bike free riders.

The Cans Festival

Two weeks ago, the exhibition entitled the Cans Festival had place at the tunnel at Lake Street. Artists from all over the world came to participate on it. But the main representative was Banksy, the most famous English graffiti artist.

Iwent last Friday, just to take a look what those and more artists (anyone who brought a stencil was allowed to add their own design) had been doing during these days. You can see some of the photos I took at flickr.

Red Baloom

redbaloom.jpgI have just uploaded some of new pictures I took in the studio last week.

You will find them at flickr.

Enjoy them!

Gregory Crewdson. Beneath the Roses.

I went yesterday at the White Cube Mason’s Yard to see an exhibition of photographs by Gregory Crewdson (New York 1962).

During the past three years he has been exploring the lush and ragged edges of America. He shot these photographs in and around the same town in upstate Massachusetts, but the scenery varies a lot, from summer landscapes to winter ones and ghostly interiors.

What I found amazing is how he plays with the light. He uses it as a minor detail, the light of a distant interior, the glow from a TV, a highlight on a patch of snow.I feel every one of those photographs as a suspension of everyday life. Is brilliant the atmosphere you can find on them, it is almost tactile.

If you want to know how he achieves all these final pictures, take a look at this website.

One more wedding

At five in the morning, you can ask the bride for whatever you want…

This photo was taken two weeks ago in Spain shooting a wedding.
In spite of the long hours of work I can always find the funniest side of it.
You will be able to see more soon on my website. I hope you like it!

Young Me Now Me

Young Me - Now Me is a site where people send their actual pictures to remember old pictures taken when they were children.
These new photos have the same pose, taken at the same place and with the same people.
I find it quite endearing. Some of them are really funny, others … no so much.
