Igancio Fortun. Acidic, zinc and light.

If the most important issue in photography is light, also it is for this great painter.
Ignacio Fortún is a Spanish artist (based in Zaragoza). He uses acidic and buril over zinc giving life to his paintings. These elements together work as mirrors reflecting the light.
All his paintings have own life, depending of the light reflected on them, of his color’s temperature, of the point of view, a single painting could be completely different. As an audience, you have to travel into his paintings and feel how a scene could change.
If you want to take a look more of Ignacio Fortún job click here. You will see how much in common with photography it has.

Photo Inspiration Coupons
Do you need inspiration? There many different ways to find it, but here you can see a really simple one.
It calls “Inspiration coupons” that could be very helpful when you are on those “not so good” photographic inspirational days.
Take a look at this:

All you have to do after printing them on a sheet of paper is to cut all the coupons and separate them into 3 piles one for the “Themes & Subjects”, the other for “Lens/Focal Length and the last pile you put the “Time of the Day/Lighting” coupons, now mix them on a separate bag or box.
Start by grabbing one from the “Themes & Subjects” pile one coupon and that would be your Theme or Subject for the shoot, then you just have to make the same procedure for each one of the other piles.
So for example you could be drawing “Time+Wide Angle+ Daylight”.
Good luck!
The first wedding…
My first wedding this year. I was last weekend in Spain shooting a wedding. As always is hard to start the day but, once you have shot for ten minutes… everything comes easier. One more time, I tried to capture the essence of that day without falling in tacky or classic.
This is one of the photos I took. There are always nice people offering a brick of red wine to keep warm…
You will be able to see more soon on my website. I hope you like it!

Alexander Rodchenko

A. M. Rodchenko, URSS 1925
Alexander Rodchenko was a Russian photographer, sculptor and graphic designer. He was one of the founders of constructivism and Russian design.
I visited yesterday at the Hayward Gallery (Southbank Centre, London) to take a look his work.
I enjoyed it looking at his photomontages, which were very innovative for his era. He was pioneer of a new vocabulary of bold and unusual camera positions, different perspective, and close-up .
If you want to know more about his life and career, I recommend you to watch this video.
